A Community.
Seventy years ago, someone had a vision — that a boxing gym could be more than a place to punch bags. It could build people.
That vision became Barnstaple Amateur Boxing Club. From our first fights in the late 1950s to producing England representatives and Senior Elite Champions in 2025, the spirit has never wavered: hard work, respect, and looking out for each other.
We've seen shy teenagers become confident leaders. We've seen complete beginners fall in love with the sport. We've seen families built around shared sessions on the gym floor. That is the Barnstaple ABC story.

From ABA Semi-Finals to Senior Elite Titles, Barnstaple ABC has competed and won at every level.
Senior Elite Champion
Jed Davies — 2025 Senior Elite Champion. Over 50 competitive bouts and a multiple-time national championship finalist.
2025England Representative
Jimmy Randall — 110+ fights carrying the England vest. Former army sergeant and one of the most decorated fighters in the club's history.
Multiple YearsInternational Coaching
Coach Fin led South West England in 1983 and has coached elite fighters across Europe and Asia over a 40-year career.

Tiny Titans
The next generation of Barnstaple ABC starts here.
Our Tiny Titans program gives kids aged 7–15 the same discipline, focus, and respect that has defined our club for 70 years — wrapped in a safe, fun, and encouraging environment.
This isn't just boxing. It's confidence. It's resilience. It's making friends for life. Many of today's senior fighters and coaches took their first step right here.
